"Excellent collections of books. The biggest bookstore I have been. City of books is no kidding. The store is huge. To be honest more like a maze. One could easily get lost here. The store does try to make everything more clear. There are signs are every door and stairs. Still the place is massive. I did manage to find photography section at fourth floor that I really enjoy. Besides books, the store has pretty large gift sections and a very decent coffee shop for people to relax. That are also seat everywhere so customer to sit down and enjoy some readings. I appreciate that. I do have a complaint about the air ventilation system. With so much crowd in the store, the air quality is pretty bad and air flow is weak. If it could be improved that would be great."

"There is no other bookstore quite like Powells City of Books. But be prepared, this is not a dash in and pick up one thing and leave type of store. This is one part adventure, a dash of mystery, a sprinkle of romance (I’m talking about with the books!) and an actual cup of coffee if you’d like. I recommend three days to explore it fully. (Just kidding) It is such a delight but prepare yourself before hand. Wear comfy shoes and maybe do some light stretching."

"Talk about a wonderful experience! This place is a must visit, im not a reader so I have been avoiding coming here but I recently visited twice and had a great time. There is something here for everyone. Books, gifts, treats, clothes, candles, so much more. Finding things is a little tricky so give yourself lots of time to explore, there is just so much here. Staff are really helpful with finding things too. There is a cafe as well! They do cool events and have lots of people of color books."

""Powell's City of Books is completely overwhelming in the best way possible. I grabbed a map at the entrance and still managed to get happily lost for three hours. The fact that they mix used and new books on the same shelf is genius—I found an affordable copy of a book I’ve wanted for years. The atmosphere is buzzing but respectful, like a giant library where you can actually talk. Definitely visit the Rare Book Room on the top floor just to see the history. It is a book lover’s paradise!"

"They layout is interesting. You can easily get lost in the sea of books. Everything seems well organized. Some prices are quite surprising. Books from the 60-70s costing more than 20 bucks. Overall, it's worth visiting. But I didn't walk away with what I expected to find. But there are interesting books."
